Calorie Calculator
Calculate your daily calorie needs based on your body metrics and goals.
About the Calorie Calculator
Our Calorie Calculator uses the Harris-Benedict equation to estimate your daily calorie needs based on your age, gender, weight, height, and activity level. This equation is a widely accepted method for calculating Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and total daily energy expenditure.
How it works
1. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): First, we calculate your BMR, which is the amount of energy your body needs to maintain basic physiological functions at rest.
2. Activity Level Adjustment: We then multiply your BMR by an activity factor based on your daily activity level to determine your maintenance calories.
3. Goal Adjustment: Finally, we adjust the calories based on your goal (lose, maintain, or gain weight).
Macronutrient Recommendations
Our calculator also provides recommended macronutrient intake (protein, carbohydrates, and fat) based on your calculated calorie needs. These recommendations align with general nutritional guidelines but may be adjusted based on individual needs and specific health conditions.
Note: This calculator provides estimates and should be used as a general guide. Individual calorie needs can vary based on factors not accounted for in this calculation. For personalized nutrition advice, please consult with a registered dietitian or healthcare professional.
